Today, April 3rd marks our one year anniversary on the air! Thanks to all of you for your support of the station, we could not do it without you.

The vision for the station was to bring you not only those BIG 80s hits you hear everywhere else, but those DEEPER 80s hits and lost 80s treasures the other stations never play. Those deeper hits and lost musical treasures are the focus of our station. Let’s be honest, there is so much more to the decade of 80s music than the same 200-400 (mostly Top 20) songs that you hear on terrestrial or satellite radio. Sure, we play those big hits because they were a huge part of the decade and the musical story of the 80s would not be complete without them, but those forgotten 80s musical gems that the average, corporate run radio stations forgot about are what makes the decade complete. And those are the songs we really showcase here in the attic.

While the terrestrial and satellite 80s radio stations focus on songs that hit the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100, we focus on those songs that charted between 30-100. We also play many songs that never charted on the Billboard Hot 100 at all but were played on MTV, new wave radio and rock radio. We love playing songs you haven’t heard since the 80s, and in some cases maybe never heard at all. It’s like discovering “new” old music.

Each and every month we add well over 200 songs to our already huge rotation and showcase those songs during the first week of each month. Did you know that the average radio station has between 200-400 songs in their rotation? We are closing in on 4000! In Charlie’s 80s Attic you’ll hear all genres of 80s music including pop, rock, new wave, punk, metal, R&B, dance, hip hop, adult contemporary and even yacht rock. You get variety 24 hours a day 7 days a week!

We pride ourselves on being commercial free. You’ll never have to sit through ads for used car dealerships, reverse mortgages or insurance. We are also subscription free. Unlike satellite radio, you never have to pay to listen, nor do you have to go into panic mode at the end of your subscription and remember to call to try get a better deal before being hit with hundreds of dollars in renewal fees. And we are repeat free. You can listen all day, every day and you won’t hear a repeated song from midnight to midnight. Every day in the attic is fresh and different.

We’ve come a long way over the past year, adding two great on air personalities and launching our own app! Kari and Joe joined the on air team in February 2021 and have added so much to the station. In addition to their regular jobs and hosting their ‘Hey, Remember The 80s’ podcast, they put so much time and effort into their shows here in the attic, and it shows. Our app has been a big hit with so many great features! We hope you have downloaded it! There is a lot more to come here in the attic, so stay tuned.
