Also on this day in 1980: Blondie started their third of six weeks at #1 on the U.S. singles chart with ‘Call Me.’
On this day in 1986: Robert Palmer went to #1 on the U.S. singles chart with ‘Addicted To Love’, it made it to #5 in the UK. Palmer originally recorded the song as a duet with Chaka Khan but due to contractual problems her voice was removed from the song. It would spend one week at #1.
